Going Green Lectures

The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. hosts this series of evening lectures around the broad topic of sustainability. Topics planned for this year include organic gardening and pest control, green design elements of the Woodlands Township, electric transportation, and design and operation of a green home. Speakers Ann Baker Ronn and Stephanie Edwards-Musa will update you on trends in green and socially responsible investing, including stocks, alternative investments, and real estate.

Topic:Locally produced food and the Woodlands Farmers Market
Learn how you can tap into the growing availability of healthy, locally grown food. Local farmers, and organizers of the Woodlands Farmer’s Market, will discuss local food production, seasonality, and how the community can help grow the Woodlands Farmer’s Market, etc.

Topic:Green building and remodeling
Michael Strong, of GreenHaus Builders, builder of the first gold-rated LEED house in Houston, will discuss how to go about designing and implementing a green remodeling or new-build project.
