The Woodlands GrassRoots Environmental Education Network

is a tax-deductible 501 (c)(3) education organization that promotes natural resource conservation, recycling, solid waste reduction, safe and sensible care of our air and water resources, and other responsible actions that protect the environment and its inhabitants.

Our speaker, Rachael Windham, Planner at H-GAC, will discuss the interconnectivity of local watersheds and challenges that impact the quality of water in lakes, streams, and other water bodies throughout the region, including our own Spring Creek. She will also outline strategies for responding to these challenges that can be carried out at individual, local, and regional levels.

Multiple $1000 cash scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors residing in The Woodlands or nearby communities who exemplify a commitment to the environment and who plan to continue their education or vocational training in an environmental field. The application period is Feb 1 to March 31. Winners will be announced in May. 2021.
